We've heard from customers who need documentation confirming their security testing engagement before the final report is ready. Whether it's for a vendor questionnaire, an audit request, or internal compliance tracking, waiting until the test completes isn't always an option.
Today we're introducing Letter of Engagement - a new report type you can generate at any point during your penetration test.
What is a Letter of Engagement?
A Letter of Engagement is a formal document confirming that your organization is actively engaged with RedVeil for penetration testing services. Unlike our other reports that require a completed scan, you can generate this letter immediately after creating a project - no waiting required.
Use it when you need to:
- Respond to vendor security questionnaires that ask for proof of ongoing security testing
- Satisfy audit requests requiring evidence of third-party penetration testing
- Provide stakeholders with confirmation that security testing is underway
- Document compliance for frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA
How it works
- Navigate to Reports: Open any project and go to the Reports tab
- Generate the letter: Click "Create report" and select "Letter of Engagement (PDF)"
- Download or share: Your letter is ready immediately with our professional letterhead
You can also generate this report through Rune, our pentest consultant AI. Just ask: "Generate a letter of engagement for this project."
Professional, audit-ready format
The Letter of Engagement follows the same clean, professional styling as our Letter of Attestation - complete with branded letterhead, confidentiality notice, and clear identification of your organization and project. It's designed to look polished in any audit package or vendor submission.
